A practice website has three jobs: help a patient decide to choose you, help them reach you without calling, and help your staff spend less time on the phone. Most practice websites do the first badly and the other two not at all.
Revelrex builds websites for healthcare organizations, and we build them the way we build our own: fast, clear, easy to update, and designed around what patients need to do. Because we also run revenue cycle operations, we understand what happens after the patient clicks "request appointment", and we design the forms so the front desk gets what it needs.
Practices that benefit
- Practices with a website that has not changed since it was built.
- New practices that need a professional presence before opening.
- Groups adding locations or providers faster than their site can be updated.
- Practices whose front desk is overwhelmed by calls that a form could handle.
What usually goes wrong
Patients cannot find basic information
Hours, locations, accepted insurance and which provider does what are missing or buried.
Everything requires a phone call
Appointment requests, refill requests and records requests all go to the phone line, which is busy.
Nobody can update the site
A new provider joins and it takes a month and a developer invoice to add them.
Forms that collect the wrong things
Contact forms that ask patients to describe their medical problem in an unsecured email field.
The actual work
Discovery and content plan
A short call to understand your services, providers, locations, patient population and what you want the site to accomplish. We produce a page plan before any design.
Design around patient tasks
The design puts the most common tasks first: request an appointment, find the office, check insurance, contact the practice. Your branding is applied consistently.
Appointment and request functionality
Appointment request forms that capture what the front desk needs (new or existing patient, provider preference, insurance, reason category) and route to the right inbox or system.
Online forms and messaging
New patient forms, records requests, refill requests and a contact form, each designed to collect only the information needed and to warn patients not to send sensitive details where it is not appropriate.
Email notifications
Staff are notified of new requests; patients receive confirmation with expected response times.
Blog and content management
An administrative editor for pages, providers, locations, hours, insurance lists and blog posts. No developer needed for routine changes.
Privacy and security considerations
Encrypted connections, form design that minimizes sensitive data, secure hosting recommendations and clear guidance on which flows may involve protected health information and what that requires.
Responsive design and search readiness
Built for phones first, with clean page structure, titles, descriptions, local business information and a sitemap so search engines can index the practice properly.

Frequently asked
Is the website HIPAA compliant?
No website is automatically HIPAA compliant; compliance depends on what information is collected, where it goes and what agreements are in place. We design forms to minimize protected health information, recommend hosting and form services that will sign a business associate agreement where PHI is involved, and document the data flows so the practice can evaluate them for its intended use.
Can patients book appointments directly?
The base website includes appointment requests that your staff confirm. Direct booking into your EMR schedule depends on your EMR's capabilities and is quoted as an integration.
Can we update the site ourselves?
Yes. Providers, locations, hours, insurance lists, pages and blog posts are editable in the administrative area. We train your staff at launch.
What about hosting?
We recommend hosting suited to healthcare websites and can set it up on an account the practice owns, so you always control your site.
How long does it take?
A standard-scope site typically launches in four to six weeks once we have your content and approvals.
